Foundations of Mindful Caregiving 4-Part Online Series introduces mindfulness-based tools and approaches to caregivers, helping to build their emotional resilience and supporting them to maintain delivery of high-quality and compassionate care.

Based on our popular in-person Foundations of Mindful Caregiving course, this shorter online session includes the following modules:

  • Building Mindfulness for Engaged Care
  • Sustainable Compassion in Caregiving
  • Loss in the Context of Caregiving
  • Maintaining Healthy Boundaries

Each session includes teaching, guided meditations, interactive activities (in pairs or threes), and the opportunity for group sharing. 

The course, run by experienced instructors, will provide the foundations of an approach to caregiving that reduces stress and burnout and allows you to provide quality care and connection to those you care for.

Who is it for?

This course is open to anyone interested and/or involved in caregiving. Whether you are a clinician, a professional caregiver, a family caregiver, or someone who wants to learn more about caregiving, the topics and teachings covered will be relevant and of lasting value. 

How does it work?

  • The course will run on four consecutive Wednesdays on March 9, 16, 23 & 30 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Pacific Time/GMT)
  • Each session will be two hours long (a total of 8 hrs live teachings)
  • Class size is limited to 20 people
  • Sessions will be conducted live via video conferencing (Zoom) by an experienced MCE Instructor.

How much does it cost?

As a non-profit with the goal of improving the care experience, it is important to us that our pricing allows as many people as possible to attend.

  • CEU price: $160
    Continuing Education Units/Credits for nurses are available with an additional $30 administrative fee to the standard price and upon completion of the entire course and post-course survey.
  • Benefactor price: $155
    This price pays your course fees and also helps other caregivers attend who otherwise wouldn’t be able to. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
  • Standard price: $130
  • Student/Accessibility price: $90
    Some tickets are available for caregivers who can’t afford the standard price.

Continuing education units are available for nurses. This course has been approved for 3 CEUs by the California Board of Nursing. Provider Number 8793.

We will be using the Zoom web conferencing platform to run the forum. Due to security updates, you will be required to download their latest version of the platform. Click here to download the Zoom Client for Meetings version 5 or greater. You will also find other updates to their platform for your cellphone and iPad. Please test out Zoom on your device before the session to ensure proper video and audio settings. For instructions, watch Zoom’s instructional video and then join a test meeting to confirm your computer settings. Be sure to speak into your build-in microphone or external headset to check the audio level.
