New Volunteer Opportunity: Cadillac Hotel
Zen Caregiving Project (ZCP) is currently working to extend our volunteer program to populations in need beyond Laguna Honda Hospital. Starting July 1st, we will be accepting applications for people interested in serving as volunteers at the Cadillac Hotel, a supportive housing, non-profit Single Room Occupancy (SRO) in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood.
This new program is a unique and challenging opportunity to offer our model of compassionate care to a traditionally underserved population. Candidates for this program will be required to fill out our volunteer application form, meet for an interview, and undergo 25 hours of training.
In keeping with our ethos that caregiving is best done within the framework of a supportive community, those accepted will be supported onsite at the Cadillac Hotel by fellow volunteer shiftmates, the ZCP volunteer manager, and hotel staff.
Before applying, we ask that applicants be willing to serve one 5-hour shift per week and make a minimum one-year commitment to the program.
Training will be held on the following dates:
Wed. & Thurs. October 19th, 20th — 5:45 PM–10 PM
Sat. & Sun. October 22nd, 23rd — 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Sat. October 29 — 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
